Shanty Hollow and snow

John Beaver and I hiked up to the waterfall at Shanty Hollow today to see if there was any pictures worth making.

Here are three more pictures from our hike. The large icecycle on the rock face in the first picture fell to the ground right after I made the picture.

You and JB are some brave fellas.....I wouldn't have tried to walk back there with snow and ice on that path!

It wasn't too hard to hike to the Falls. I only slipped to my butt twice. John had on his metal x pieces that provide traction on ice and packed snow. I forgot mine but made the trip without injury. We were not the first to hike to the falls. There were signs of people having been there earlier in the day.
Walking sticks helped to steady us when needed.

I thought about heading up that way...but didn't make over...Wished I would have given it a try from I can see of these photos...ended up closer to home and got a couple decent shots.
